Durango YMCA offers youth league

The Durango Hills YMCA, 3521 N. Durango Drive, is offering a basketball league for youth ages 6-15 from Aug. 17 through September.

Practices will be held on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday, with games on Friday and Saturday. The cost is $90, plus uniform fees.

Summer fencing camp starts Monday

The Fencing Academy of Nevada will hold the third annual Yves Auriol Summer Fencing camp from Monday through Aug. 17 at the Las Vegas Sports Park, 1400 N. Rampart Blvd.

The clinic is offered to all ages, from advanced beginners to competitive fencers.

SJGA summer camps continue at Angel Park

The Summerlin Junior Golf Academy summer camps, for children ages 9-17, are being held throughout the summer at Angel Park Golf Course.

Camps are held almost every week, from 8-11 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, and special evening camps are offered from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Volunteers are needed for Las Vegas' only PGA Tour event, the 2007 Frys.com Open.

The event benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children and will be held from Oct. 8-14 at TPC Canyons and TPC Summerlin.

Rainbow YSL sets up fall signup dates

The Rainbow Youth Soccer League will be holding signups from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Aug. 18, and from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and Aug. 15 at Villa Pizza, 3385 S. Durango Drive.

Fees range from $85 to $95. Rainbow YSL is a 27-year-old, coed recreational league serving players ages 3-15 in the far west of Las Vegas. Games are played at Desert Breeze Park.

Northwest league signs up girls

The Northwest Girls Softball League is open to girls ages 4-18.
