* Experience gallery exhibits, book signings, live music and more during Henderson's monthly Third Thursday Arts Walk, 5 to 9 p.m., downtown Henderson's Water Street District.

BOWL OF FIRE

* The National Park Service is leading a moderate 5-mile hike to the Bowl of Fire South at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Visitors can see a variety of colorful sandstone and wildlife. Reservations are required. Tours begin at the Alan Bible Visitors Center on U.S. Highway 93, 4 miles southeast of Boulder City. 293-8990.

ICE SKATING

* Lace up your skates for a day of ice skating at Lake Las Vegas. The floating ice rink at MonteLago Village is open from 3 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from noon to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is $15 for adults and $12 for children 12 and younger.

LAST-MINUTE REQUESTS

* Christmas is almost here, so hurry to downtown Henderson to let Santa know your last-minute requests. 5 to 8 p.m. today through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water St.

MOVIE MAGIC

* The District at Green Valley Ranch will continue its Outdoor Picture Show this weekend. On Friday, catch "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas," and on Saturday, don't miss "It's a Wonderful Life." Both shows start at 7 p.m. on The Green. Popcorn will be provided.

GINGERBREAD HOUSES

* Check out the gingerbread houses that were entered in the annual competition at Lake Las Vegas now through Saturday.
