THIRD THURSDAY, a monthly celebration of the local art scene, is held from 5 until 9 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in the Water Street District of downtown Henderson. Downtown businesses stay open to host art, entertainment, food and special offers. The event is free to the public and the whole family is invited. For more information, call 568-6300.

FIRST FRIDAY, a monthly cultural open house and street festival held in the downtown Las Vegas Arts District, is held every first Friday of the month, from 6 to 10 p.m. Maps of the Arts District may be found at The Funk House, 1228 S. Casino Center Drive. They will also be available the evening of First Friday at S2Art, One E. Charleston Blvd., or at the Red Rooster Antique Mall, 1109 Western Ave. The city will provide transportation via the City of Las Vegas Arts Bus. DANCE

STARDUSTERS SQUARE DANCE CLUB meets from 6:45-8:45 p.m. Tuesdays (beginners) and Thursdays at East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave. 348-4906, or e-mail rtang@frontiernet.net.

BALLROOM, LATIN AND SWING DANCING is held every Saturday from 8-11 p.m. at Las Vegas Dancesport, 6000 W. Spring Mountain Road, Suite 2B. Cost is $10 per person. Refreshments are served. For information call 364-8220.

THE GOOD TIMES SQUARE AND ROUND DANCE CLUB invites you to dance with them every Friday night, 7-9:30 p.m. at William Snyder Elementary School, 4317 E. Colorado Ave. If school is not available, club dances at Riviera Vegas Mobile Home Park, 2038 Palm St. Couples and singles welcome. 565-7096.

SQUARE & ROUND DANCE is held by Reel Rebels Square Dance Club, with an advanced class at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and a C-2 level class at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays at McMillan Elementary, 7000 Walt Lott Drive. THE LAS VEGAS OLD TIME BARN DANCES are held once a month, beginning with a workshop at 6:30 p.m. followed by dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. General admission is usually $6, or $3 for students and active military. Comfortable shoes and casual dress are recommended. Norma Biggar, 656-9513.

BALLROOM DANCING is held from 6:30 until 9:30 p.m. Saturdays at the Las Vegas Senior Center, 451 E. Bonanza Road. Music is provided by Boyd Coulter's Good Times Band. Seniors and guests are welcome. Cost is $3. For information, call 229-6454.

FREE EAST COAST SWING DANCE LESSONS are offered every Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd. Beginners are welcome.
