Online registration for returning players for the 2008 Paseo Verde Little League is available through Jan. 31 at www.eteamz.active.com/paseoverdelittleleague. In-person registration will be available on Jan. 5 and 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Albertsons at Stephanie Street and Horizon Ridge Parkway.

LVBA TEAMS WIN AT ARIZONA TOURNAMENT
The Las Vegas Baseball Academy traveled to Lake Havasu City, Ariz., for the Triple Crown Sports Parade of Lights baseball tournament earlier this month, and two of the five local teams competing took the runner-up spots in their age divisions. The 13-and-under team won its division with a 4-0 record to claim the championship, and that squad qualified for the Triple Crown National tournament planned for 2008 in Colorado.
TPC CANYONS COURSE GETS NEW NAME
The PGA tour recently announced that TPC Canyons will be renamed TPC Las Vegas as part of an overall re-positioning initiative designed to align the club with the worldwide resort destination of Las Vegas.
The club is the sister course to the private TPC Summerlin, home to the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, scheduled for October 2008. For more information, call 256-2500.
