Responding to your "From Our Readers column" (ViewPoints, Feb. 6). I, too, am handicapped and had the same problem at the Topaz Postal Station. When they removed the number system, they put in a handicapped sign at the first station, which works if you are the only handicapped person there. However, I have been there and third in line and have to stand to keep my place. With the take-a-number system, I could take my number and sit down to wait. Sometimes the station is not manned and you are at the mercy of the other clerks who are just looking at the head of the regular line.
I think the number system should be in all post offices in our nation. According to the gentleman in charge of the Topaz Station, I am fighting a losing battle and they will never go back.

I read the letter about the post office (ViewPoints, Feb. 6).
I complained also about taking the number system out. They put benches in so you can wait in comfort. Now there are no numbers and I must stand in line for 10 to 20 minutes depending on how long the line is.
Someone phoned me when I put in the complaint. Said it was up to the manager to do what they want. We have no say. The public! Like me, there are other people who are in the post office at least two times a week.
I guess they don't want our business. We need to check out other ways to mail our packages and get stamps somewhere else.
