Faith Lutheran High School senior outfielder Adam Jones was recently named a 2007 Under Armour Preseason High School All-American.
Jones traveled to Tucson, Ariz., to compete in the Under Armour Preseason All-American Tournament, an event meant to showcase top players from across the nation.

Redrock league prepares for 2007
Redrock Little League will conduct registration for the 2007 spring season from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 3 at Graziano's Pizza, 8410 W. Desert Inn Road.

The Tarkanian Basketball Academy will be offering a Sunday Skills Camp, a weekly basketball class for boys and girls of all ages and skill levels.

Gorman student in championships
Narayan Pathi, a 16-year-old sophomore at Bishop Gorman High School, will compete in the U.S. Fencing Association Junior Olympic Fencing Championships in February.
Pathi is an automatic qualifier to the competition after earning national points in Cadet Under 17 and Junior Under 20 men's epee. He is nationally rated and ranked in men's epee and will represent the Fencing Academy of Nevada, where he trains with master Yves Auriol.

Teaching pro to conduct clinics
LPGA teaching professional Kristin Sunderhaft will be conducting golf clinics through Feb. 10 at the Callaway Golf Center, 6730 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Corporate Challenge seeks participants
The Corporate Challenge, the largest amateur athletic competition in Nevada, is looking to involve more local companies and organizations in the annual event, a 12-week competition starting March 29.
Companies may register for participation through Feb. 9. Costs range from $1,750 for companies of up to 150 employees to $2,360 for companies of 2,000 employees or more.
The Corporate Challenge is operated by the Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services.
