Achievements may run the gamut from earning a college degree to successfully climbing Mount Everest. Danielle C. Ramos, 23, has graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a bachelor of science in materials science and engineering, and a minor in mathematics.
Ramos was an undergraduate researcher at UNR, and held an undergraduate research internship at National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Md.
Ramos, a 2002 Rancho High School graduate, was a student ambassador at UNR, and a member of the Society of Women Engineers from 2003-2006.
Ramos is the daughter of Craig and Susan Ramos of Las Vegas.
Her future plans are to attain a PhD and do research in bio-materials.
PFC Kyle J. Cresto, 19, graduated from the United States Army Infantry School, Charlie Company, Third Battalion, 330th Infantry, at Fort Benning, Ga., Nov. 22, 2006, and was named the company Distinguished Honor Graduate or best all-around soldier in his company.
PFC Cresto also received the Army Achievement Medal for meritorious achievement as honor graduate of the cycle from the secretary of the Army.
He also was recognized at infantry school for excellence in marksmanship and physical fitness for achieving the highest scores in the class.
Following infantry school, he was assigned to Charlie Company, First Battalion, 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, where he received his jump wings Dec. 12, 2006.
Cresto's next assignment is the Ranger Indoctrination Program at Fort Benning.
Cresto graduated from Sierra Vista High School and the Area Technical Trade Center's two year framing program in 2006.
He is the son of Kirk Cresto, a 1982 Clark High School graduate, and 1988 UNLV graduate, and Heidi Gubler, a 1982 Bonanza High School graduate, and 1994 UNLV graduate.
PFC Bryce R. Cresto, 21, graduated from the United States Army Military Police School, Charlie Company, 787th MP Battalion at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., on July 27, 2006.
Cresto is stationed with his wife, Jacquelyn, who is also an MP, with the 173rd Airborne Brigade at Caserma Ederle in Vicenza, Italy.
Cresto graduated from Sierra Vista High School in 2003.
In 2002, he was a first-team All-Southern Nevada and first-team Nevada All-State football player for the Mountain Lions at Sierra Vista.
He is the son of Kirk Cresto and Heidi Gubler of Las Vegas.
