Cashman's Dell wins first-year teacher award

VIEW STAFF WRITER

The Clark County School District Board of School Trustees recognized Cashman Middle School English teacher Rob Dell as one of the 2006-07 New Teachers of the Year. Dell is the only middle school teacher to have received the honor this year.

The award is given to first-year educators, and the recipient is chosen by a panel of CCSD administrators and personnel from UNLV, Sierra Nevada College and Nevada State College.

Athlete, 13, does well in overseas contest

It was her first international competition. She traveled to Switzerland, without her coach. It seemed like a daunting task, especially for a 13-year-old.

But Stephanie Rigley rose to the occasion, winning first place in the short program and first place overall in her age group at the 2007 Morges Cup in Morges, Switzerland, near Lake Geneva.
