Fantasy camp set at UNLV

Baseball Legends Fantasy Camps will be holding a camp on Nov. 26-30 at UNLV. Scheduled participants include Frank Robinson, Fergie Jenkins, Bill Madlock and Rollie Fingers.

FOOTBALL

NYFL opens fall registration

The Southern Nevada Youth Sports Association, home of the middle school football league, will have registration for its fall season from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturdays at Gibson Middle School, 3900 W. Washington Ave.

Teams are forming in the Anthem, Canyon Springs, Cimarron, Clark, Mojave, Agassi, Eldorado, Shadow Ridge, Rancho, Centennial, Chaparral, Cheyenne, Gorman, Palo Verde, Spring Valley, Legacy and Arbor View school areas.

Registration is $160 for players and $25 for cheerleaders. Practice starts on Aug. 1. Visit www.snysa.com.

GOLF

SJGA summer camps continue at Angel Park

The Summerlin Junior Golf Academy summer camps, for children ages 9-17, are being held throughout the summer at Angel Park Golf Course.

Camps are held almost every week from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, and special evening camps are offered from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

SOCCER

Rainbow YSL sets fall signup dates

Rainbow Youth Soccer League will be holding signups from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and on Aug. 4, 11 and 18, and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 8 and 15 at Villa Pizza, 3385 S. Durango Drive.

Fees range from $85 to $95. Rainbow YSL is a 27-year-old, coed recreational league serving players ages 3-15 in the far west of Las Vegas. Games are played at Desert Breeze Park.

SOFTBALL

Northwest league signs up girls

Signups for the Northwest Girls Softball League will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 4 and 5 at the city's new softball complex located at Alexander Road and Hualapai Way.

The Northwest Girls Softball League is open to girls ages 4-18. The season runs from August to November. Beginners and advanced players are welcome. Fees range from $75 to $85 for older divisions.

Revolution conducts open tryouts

Revolution, a 14-and-under ASA girls' fastpitch softball travel team, is looking for experienced players born in 1993 or 1994 and is conducting open tryouts for the fall season. For more information, call 338-5621.

TENNIS

Darling Center to host kids' camps

The Nevada Tennis Association will offer its annual free summer tennis camps on Aug. 6, 8 and 10 at All American Park and the Darling Tennis Center.

Athlete takes part in leadership camp

Max McCoy-Novak, a 12-year-old from the Las Vegas Hilton Tennis Academy, recently took part in the 2007 Tennis Leadership Camp, developed in 1984 to provide an educational experience for National Junior Tennis League participants.

Forty youth between the ages of 12-14 from the United States recently traveled to Seattle and the University of Washington to participate in the program. Max was the only participant from the state of Nevada.

Each participant was chosen based on a number of criteria, including tennis ability, financial need and leadership and community involvement.

WRESTLING

Centennial wrestling camp coming up

Centennial High School will be hosting its third annual wrestling camp on Aug. 2-4, featuring high school and youth sessions.

Several guest clinicians from the field will teach at the camp.

The cost is $100 for high school athletes and $40 for youth. For more information, call 580-5074.
