Doctors lend their voices to charity

The Nathan Adelson Hospice will host its 13th annual Serenades of Life, a physicians' benefit concert, on Saturday. Many local doctors, members of the medical community and friends will lend their musical talents to help raise funds for Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Paula Francis and Gary Waddell from Channel 8 Eyewitness News will serve as the masters of ceremonies.

Serenades of Life will be held at the Flamingo Library Theatre, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. The concert begins at 7 p.m. with a reception to follow. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by calling 938-3959.

SUMMERFEST AT SUNSET STATION

Sunset Station continues its poolside Summerfest concerts today with Smokin', a Boston tribute band.

The pre-party starts at 6 p.m. at the Gaudi Bar. Doors to the concert open at 7 p.m., and shows begin at 8 p.m. The evenings will feature the concert, an infinity edge pool and a lawn area for lounging.

Admission is $7, which includes access to the pool, concert and the first drink free.

WWE action returns to the Thomas & Mack

See the stars of World Wrestling Entertainment as WWE RAW comes to the Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday.

The main event is the championship match between John Cena and Randy Orton. Other wrestlers expected to appear include Mr. Kennedy, King Booker, Umaga, Candice and Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Authors to sign cookbook

Las Vegas authors Karan and Michael Feder, authors of "Joy of Liberace: Retro Recipes from America's Kitschiest Kitchen," will be on hand to sign copies of their book.

The book signing begins at 2 p.m. Sunday at the 567 N. Stephanie St. Barnes & Noble.

The book celebrates Liberace's love for bling cuisine. Karan Feder, a costume designer, works to restore the Liberace costume collection. Michael leads licensing efforts for the Liberace Foundation.

MOVIES AND MUSIC AT THE DISTRICT

Free movies will be shown today and Saturday under the stars on The Green at The District at Green Valley Ranch. Movies begin at dusk.

Guests are encouraged to bring picnic baskets and blankets. Glass, alcohol and smoking are not allowed.

Tonight's show is "Madagascar." "Mission: Impossible III" will be shown on Saturday.

The District's Spring Concert Series at the Courtyard also continues. Island Tyme will play R&B and reggae music tonight, and Boy Katindig will perform contemporary jazz on Saturday.

MARILYN HOHN EXHIBIT
