* Thursday: Thursday Night Live!, 8 p.m. Rocky Gordon & The Killer Groove Band will feature their great jazz sounds.

* Friday: Fridays at 8, 8 p.m. Michael Markus performs.

* Aug. 9: Thursday Night Live!, 8 p.m. Glenn Rich plays jazz on the keyboard.

* Aug. 16: Thursday Night Live!, 8 p.m. Tommy Thompson entertains with his smooth sounds of this jazz-oriented quartet from blues to big band jump.

* Aug. 23: Thursday Night Live!, 8 p.m. Blues music by Blusoul.

* Aug. 24: Fridays at 8, 8 p.m. The Pine Leaf Boys will play Cajun music.

* Aug. 30: Thursday Night Live!, 8 p.m. Chyna will perform dance tunes, rock, funk and blues.

There is lawn seating, so don't forget your blankets. Picnic baskets are welcome but glass containers will not be allowed.

Henderson recreation centers will host several one-time events in the upcoming months.

SUMMERFEST AT SUNSET

The weekly concert series at Sunset Station, 1301 W. Sunset Road, begins with a pre-party at Hooters inside the casino at 6 p.m. every Friday through August.

The poolside party begins at 7 p.m., and showtime is at 7:30 p.m. The party continues after the concert at 11 p.m. General admission is $7 and includes a drink.

* Aug. 10: Dead or Alive, Bon Jovi Tribute Band

* Aug. 17: TNT, AC/DC Tribute Band

All events are free unless otherwise noted and begin at 7 p.m. in the MonteLago Village Events Plaza, 30 Strada di Villaggio. Coolers are not allowed, and outside food is discouraged. Blankets and chairs welcome. Movies do no exceed PG-13 ratings. In case of inclement weather, call the events hot line at 564-4766 in case of cancellation.

* Aug. 11: New Vista Community Wine Walk features 18 to 21 wine stops along the street. Almost all of the $30 donations will support New Vista Community, a nonprofit group that has programs for intellectually challenged adults and children in Las Vegas.
