Henderson recreation centers will play host to several one-time events in the upcoming months.

SENIOR BINGO
* July 5, 12, 19 and 26, 10 a.m. to noon, Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway. Free. Open to seniors 50 years and older. Registration required one week in advance.
SENIOR SHENANIGANS
* July 6, 1 to 3 p.m., Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway. Free. Seniors ages 50 and older can participate in the Senior Shenanigans, the first Friday event. Each month will be a different event.

JUMP FOR FUN
* July 26, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway. Free. Children ages 2 to 5 can take a jump in the bounce house.
'MAN OF THE YEAR'
* July 26, 11:15 a.m., Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St. Free. Open to seniors ages 55 and older. Registration required one week in advance.
FAMILY BOUNCE HOUSE NIGHT
* July 27, 6 to 8 p.m., Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road. $5 each or $15 for a family of four. The night includes an obstacle course.
HENDERSON CULTURAL ARTS AND TOURISM
All Thursday Night Live!, Fridays at 8 and Twilight in the Plaza events are free, open to the public and are located at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 Water St.

CITY OF HENDERSON INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
* July 4
The celebration has a water and sand theme and will feature three stages of entertainment, a water play area, food and a variety of children's activities, including a splash park, bounce house, giant slide, obstacle course, train rides, water barrel tug-o-war, sand play area, water slide and paddle boats.
Local artist Steven Liguori will create a sand sculpture during the event, and children are invited to bring their pails and shovels to create their own sand art.
The event also will feature three stages of entertainment offering a variety of music. Trombonist Walt Boenig, the Henderson Civic Orchestra, saxophonist Paul Taylor and Randy Anderson are a few of the groups scheduled to perform.
The fireworks display will be launched from City Hall at approximately 9 p.m.

* July 5
This spoof of the whodunit genre is complete with motives, clues and a body under the sofa.

Stay cool while listening to the hot fusion of country, folk and contemporary acoustic music with tight harmonies by the three sisters from Georgia.
THURSDAY NIGHT LIVE! DAN & IRENE AVALOS

They will entertain with tropical steel drums from the Caribbean, jazz, calypso and light rock.
FRIDAYS AT 8 SANTA CRUZ RIVER BAND
* July 13
The trio performs songs filled with history and mystical lore of the Great American Southwest in English, Spanish and American Indian languages.
THURSDAY NIGHT LIVE! AFRICAN ARTS PRODUCTIONS
July 19
* Adele Adefemi founded African Arts Productions to keep alive the music, dance and sounds of Africa. Experience an evening of folkloric drumming, music and dance.

The solos of bluesman Michael Burks create a blues guitar performance.
THURSDAY NIGHT LIVE! ISLAND TYME
* July 26
The Caribbean-influenced band entertains with a mix of reggae, rhythm and blues, jazz and smooth calypso.
FRIDAYS AT 8 THE NELSONS
* July 27
The twin sons of rock 'n' roll legend Ricky Nelson are now writing their own legend of pop/metal music and lyrics. Their show features a tribute to their late father's popular music, including his famous hits.
LAKE LAS VEGAS
All events are free unless otherwise noted and begin at 7 p.m. in the MonteLago Village Events Plaza, 30 Strada di Villaggio.
Coolers are not allowed, and outside food is discouraged. Blankets and chairs welcome.
Movies do not exceed PG-13 ratings.
