MONTELAGO VILLAGE

MonteLago Village and The Auld Dubliner will host a St. Patrick's Day celebration that will make even the non-Irish turn green with envy.

The celebration starts today when traditional Irish singer Ashley Davis and guitarist John Walsh perform from 7 to 9 p.m. on the Events Plaza.

On Saturday, visitors can attend a morning Mass in the Chapel Fiorenza, then take their children to learn about Irish music, stories and songs at the Irish workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. Traditional Irish dancers will perform in The Village throughout the day.

More entertainment is on tap for Saturday when Davis and Walsh return to the stage from 7 to 9 p.m. The party continues in The Auld Dubliner, where diners can enjoy food and drink specials amid decor imported from Ireland.

The Tayrona Theater Company will present two plays in Spanish at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday at the Winchester Cultural Center Theater, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for children and seniors.

The first play, "La Institutriz" by Anton Chejov, deals with human values and respect in an abusive world. The second play, "Se Busca" by Salvador Enriquez, explores a man's desire to run away from a reality he no longer desires. Between plays, guest artist Fermin Ramirez will interpret Spanish poems.

On Sunday, Clark County Parks and Recreation's World Vibration music series continues with sounds from the Virgin Islands at 2 p.m. at the theater. Harris Todman presents steel drum and percussion music along with bits of history and geography. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for children and seniors. For information, call 455-7340.
