BASEBALL

Big League Weekend back at Cashman

Tickets are on sale for the Major League Baseball exhibition games featuring the Chicago Cubs and Seattle Mariners at Cashman Field, home of the Las Vegas 51s, set for March 30 and 31. Ticket prices are $30 for reserved seats, berm and grandstand and $45 for plaza seats.

T-Ball registration open at B&G club

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson will be holding T-Ball registration through Friday or until the league is full. The league is open to boys and girls ages 5-8. Participants must be in kindergarten or higher.

Volunteers, coaches and umpires are needed. Registration is $40 per child. The league begins April 17. For more information, call 565-6569.

BASKETBALL

TBA offering Sunday Skills Camp

The Tarkanian Basketball Academy at the Stations Sports Complex is offering Sunday Skills Camp, a weekly, two-hour basketball class for boys and girls of all ages and skill levels. The camp is held from noon to 2 p.m. every Sunday and the cost is $20 per class.

Vegas Grand Prix needs volunteers

An estimated 600 volunteers are needed for the first running of the Vegas Grand Prix, set for April 6-8 in downtown Las Vegas.

Volunteers will be able to enjoy a week of activities and will receive event T-shirts, a hat, discounted tickets for friends and family, coffee, donuts and lunch each day. Volunteers must be 18 years old and available for a three-day commitment of at least 25 total hours.

Corporate Challenge kicks off downtown

Corporate Challenge, the largest amateur athletic competition in Nevada, opens with a torch relay at 8 a.m. on March 29 in downtown Las Vegas at the Fremont Street Experience. The executive relay event and opening ceremonies will follow. There is no charge to attend these activities.

The 12-week Corporate Challenge competition is designed as a healthy way for employees to stay physically fit, build teamwork and friendships and become more at home in the community.
