The Greenhouse Theatrical Group, in conjunction with Super Summer Theatre, announces auditions for "110 in the Shade," a musical version of "The Rainmaker" by N. Richard Nash, with music and lyrics by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt. The musical takes place in 1933 in a small, drought-stricken town. The lives of the Curry family and the rest of the townsfolk are affected by Starbuck, a con man on the run from the law who promises he can bring rain in 24 hours.
Rehearsals begin in May and continue through June. The opening performance is set for July 11 at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. Actors should prepare an upbeat Broadway vocal selection and bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Auditions will be held on Saturday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Vegas City Artz Studios, 8450 W. Sahara Ave., Suite 102.
