View welcomes announcements of recent achievements of Favorite Sons & Daughters who have attended local schools. Achievements may run the gamut from earning a college degree to successfully climbing Mount Everest. Eryanne Thurow, a sixth-grade student at Woodbury Middle School, earned the honor of attending the People to People World Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., April 16-22.

Eryanne was nominated and accepted for the trip based on outstanding scholastic achievement, civic involvement and leadership potential.

While there, she earned high school credit studying leadership and exploring some of the United States' most prominent monuments and institutions.

Eryanne, 12, played softball with the Sunrise Girls Fast Pitch League for six years and is a current member of her middle school band.

She also is a member of Star Catchers Dance, a hip-hop performance troupe based out of the Winchester Cultural Center.

Eryanne is the daughter of Ed and Cindy Thurow of Las Vegas.
