LITERARY LAS VEGAS
Sun City Anthem resident Carol Attebery worked for WBBM-TV, a CBS television affiliate in her native city of Chicago. She produced "The Lee Phillip Show," a women's daytime interview program aired on 125 CBS-TV stations. Attebery retired following the birth of her first child. In 2001, she moved to Henderson and started work on her short novel. "I had always wanted to write a book," she said, "When a very good friend died, I found my premise and 'Love From Heaven to Earth' became a reality."
Excerpt from "Love From Heaven to Earth"
It was mid-May. Lauren was sitting in her living room watching television news when suddenly a news bulletin flashed across the screen. Gary Nolan had a massive heart attack in front of his condominium. The paramedics were called to the scene and he was put on life support systems. He was taken to Cedars Sinai Hospital. Doctors said the outlook was not good. Nolan died at 9:02 p.m. Lauren was stunned and broke into tears. He was the only man she had ever loved and he was dead. All the experiences she had with Gary came flooding back. They consoled her. Services for Gary were held at a small chapel in Los Angeles. Lauren wanted to go but thought twice about it and stayed home. The days that followed were sad. It was hard to believe that Gary was gone. She would always carry him in her heart!
