VETERANS DAY: WWII nurse recalls life
Ninety-one-year-old military wife served in Red Cross, endured hardship during the Great Depression

Ninety-one-year-old Eve Moss sat quietly at the kitchen table of her small, but ornately decorated, Spring Valley apartment, happily sifting through photographs that tell her life's story.

"I've lived all over the world," she said. "You can't imagine the time I've had."

View ancient rock art at Grapevine Canyon

Grapevine Canyon, located in Lake Mead National Recreation Area, is home to one of Southern Nevada's premier petroglyphs sites. The canyon lies in the Newberry Mountains, within the 7,761-acre Bridge Canyon Wilderness Area, just northwest of Laughlin.

The canyon's most impressive rock art panels are easily accessed by an easy one-quarter-mile walk from the trailhead.
