HENDERSON SWIMMING POOLS WIN AWARD
Two Henderson swimming pools were named as 2007 Pool Cool award recipients, the Henderson Multigenerational Pool and the Black Mountain Aquatics Center.
Pool Cool is a sun safety education program designed to increase awareness, motivation, and sun protection practices.
LOCAL GYMNAST TO COMPETE IN HOUSTON EVENT
Danielle Dessaints of Gymcats will be competing in a TOPS competition in Houston in December. The coaching staff of the U.S. Olympic team will attend the event.
Upper level gymnasts such as Dessaints put in more than 30 hours a week in the gym training in competitive skills and TOPS required skills, the standards for elite gymnasts set by the USAG.
BENEFIT GOLF TOURNAMENT SET FOR ANGEL PARK
The second annual Jeremy Duncombe Butler Golf Classic will be held at noon on Monday at Angel Park Golf Course to raise money for scholarships to send students from the Andre Agassi College Prepatory Academy on international exchange programs.
