SPOTLIGHT ON: STEAK

76 W. HORIZON RIDGE PARKWAY, 567-8325

When David Droz came up with the concept for a restaurant with his brother and father, he hoped to fuse the idea of casual dining with a lounge feel. The result was Steak, a restaurant and lounge with a dining area overlooking the distant Strip on one end and couches situated around coffee tables on the other. Patrons may browse bottles of wines from across the country and the world set in shelves lining the restaurant and the adjoined gourmet food and wine market, where some of the menu items, alcohol or food, can be purchased. With 30 wines by the glass and 90 bottled beers, customers may choose to find the perfect accompaniment to a pasta, steak or seafood dish or stick to a drink and tapas. "I tried to keep the menu quite simple," said Guy Droz, David Droz's brother and the executive chef at Steak. While the restaurant's specialty is, of course, steak, the menu also features pasta, seafood, salads and a variety of tapas, or appetizers. Steak is open 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Delivery is available between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m., and private party space is available.
