Question: Is it safe to water the lemon tree only once a week as suggested? Isn't it going to die? We have the drip system.
Yes, this time of year watering once per week will be adequate provided you water deeply and have drip emitters that apply water under the entire canopy of the tree. I also would strongly encourage you to cover the soil under the tree canopy with 4 inches of wood mulch to help reduce evaporation and encourage root growth.
