GINGERBREAD HOUSE ENTRIES MUST BE IN BY MONDAY
Lake Las Vegas invites chefs to put on their aprons to celebrate the holidays around the world during its second annual Gingerbread House Competition. Entry forms are due by Monday.
Chefs of all ages and professional abilities are invited to submit a homemade, completely edible gingerbread house for a chance to win cash and other prizes. With four categories of competition -- youth, ages 12 and under; teen, ages 13 to 17; home cooks and culinary students; and professional chefs -- bakers have no excuse not to ready their kitchens for this year's holiday event.
Entrants will be limited, and completed houses must be delivered to Lake Las Vegas Resort between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Nov. 29-30.
The gingerbread houses will be judged on overall appearance, creativity and consistency of the theme, Holidays Around the World. Prizes for the best gingerbread houses in each category vary, but include cash and resort-affiliated amenities.
For entry forms, contest rules or more information, call 564-1600 or visit www.lakelasvegas.com.
