PETS OF THE WEEK

TAZ & SHARKBITE

Room for two with you? We're friendly, fun-loving ferrets, both adult neutered males (and descented), and we're a strongly bonded pair and want to stay together forever. Please don't forget the many gentle species, including rabbits, guinea pigs, turtles, hamsters and more that also await a new, loving, lifelong home. You can come meet and adopt all of us at Nevada SPCA.

The Nevada SPCA is a no-kill animal sanctuary located at 4800 W. Dewey Drive in Las Vegas. For more information on animals featured here, visit www.nevadaspca.org, or call 873-7722.

FUR FEST TO OFFER EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

The Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will hold its annual Family, Fur & Fun Festival on Saturday at Willows Park in Summerlin inside the Willows Village on Desert Marigold Lane from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The humane education event will offer interactive learning exhibits, and kids will be able to earn Animal Hero Badges by participating in educational games.

For more information, log on to www.nevadaspca.org.

PUG-O-RAMA SET FOR HILLS PARK, SUMMERLIN, SUNDAY

The Southern Nevada Pug Rescue welcomes all area pug owners and admirers to the annual Howloween picnic, Pug-O-Rama, Sunday, at Hills Park in Summerlin on Hillpointe Road.

The sixth annual event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and pug owners are encouraged to dress up their dogs, pack a picnic and enjoy a few hours socializing with other pug parents.

Pug-O-Rama Picnic tickets will be available at the door for $15 apiece.

Also scheduled is a costume contest, raffle drawings and a silent auction.

AVA, EVA, MIA, NANCY & TINA

While Sinatra, as in Frank (left), has been adopted, his harem is still available and looking for a loving home or homes. The six puppies arrived at the Las Vegas Weimaraner Club & Rescue as a breeder turn-in. Like all puppies, they are curious, full of energy and ready to begin their new lives.

For information on Ava, Eva, Mia, Nancy and Tina, or to see other Weimaraners available, call 280-6946 or visit www.vegasweimrescueclub.org.

Mystic, the "lovable, charming" 18-month-old female tortoiseshell and white feline who was featured in the View's Pets of the Week column on Sept. 25 was adopted by a reader.

We're told one look is all it took.
