JUDO CLUB TAKES HOME FIVE MEDALS

The Ryoku Judo Club, headquartered at 2620 S. Maryland Parkway, won five medals, including three gold medals, at the Dr. Z Memorial Tournament, held Oct. 13. in Claremont, Calif.

The club also took home eight medals from Silver State Judo Championship in March and has two tournaments coming up, including the USJA Winter Nationals in December.

GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT BOULDER CITY HIGH TEAMS

The Boulder City Scramble XXI will be held on Saturday at the Boulder Creek Golf Club to benefit the Boulder City High School baseball program.

The cost is $95 per player and over $500 worth of prizes will be awarded through the tournament and a raffle.

FOOTHILL TO HOST PRESEASON BASKETBALL CAMP

Foothill Falcon basketball will hold its annual Preseason Basketball Tune-Up camp from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at the Foothill High School gym for boys and girls entering grades 3-9.

The $80 registration fee includes contests, prizes, a personal evaluation and camp T-shirt.

ANNUAL CELEBRITY CHEF GOLF TOURNAMENT TO RETURN

The Siena Golf Club will host Odyssey Las Vegas' third annual Celebrity Chef Golf Tournament on Nov. 11.

The event includes 18 holes of golf, a continental breakfast, gift items, the Blues Gourmet Barbecue, a silent auction and musical entertainment.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the cost is $350 per person.

FENCING ACADEMY OFFERS FREE INSTRUCTION

A free one-on-one fencing instruction and evaluation session is being offered by the Fencing Academy of Nevada, at the Las Sport Park, 1400 N. Rampart Blvd. Participants get to try on the gear, learn basic footwork and give the Olympic sport a try.
