Boys & Girls Clubs to host fall league

Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas will host a fall basketball league for fifth- through 10th-graders at two locations: at the Lied Memorial Boys & Girls Club, 2850 S. Lindell Road; and at the Donald W. Reynolds Boys & Girls Club in the Green Valley area, 2980 Robindale Road.

Youth fall leagues starting up

The city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services invites boys and girls ages 3-14 to participate in fall Saturday soccer leagues that begin Saturday and Oct. 20 and continue for six weeks at the following locations: Brinley Community School, 6150 Smoke Ranch Road; Gibson Community School, 3990 W. Washington Ave.; Rivera Community Center, 2900 E. Stewart Ave.; and Robison Community School, 4794 Harris Ave.

The cost ranges from $35 to $65. Volunteer coaches are needed. For more information, call 229-2642.

SOFTBALL

Nevada Dynamite hosting tryouts

The Nevada Dynamite girls' fastpitch softball travel team is looking for players at all positions, especially catchers and pitchers, in preparing for its upcoming season. The team invites all girls born between 1993 and 1995 who love softball to try out.

City offers youth leagues

USTA holding fall classes

United States Tennis Association (USTA) fall tennis classes are being held at the following sites starting on Monday: Aloha Shores Park, Angel Park, Bruce Trent Park, Bunker Park, Duck Creek Park, Lone Mountain Park, Mountain Ridge Park and Paul Meyer Park. In Henderson, classes start next week at: Morrell Park, Black Mountain Recreation Center, Puccini Park and White Middle School.
