BASEBALL TRAINING FACILITY PLANS GRAND OPENING

Frozen Ropes International Baseball and Softball Training Center is now open in Las Vegas, offering developmental programs for ages 3 and up at its 12,000-square-foot facility at 6667 Schuster St. Major League hitting coach Rick Down and Rich Rubel will be holding a grand opening event on Saturday starting at 10 a.m., including open hitting time, raffles, demonstrations and more.

WOMEN'S AMATEUR GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP COMING UP

The Women's Southern Nevada Golf Association Amateur Championship will be played Monday and Tuesday at Angel Park Golf Course. The format is 36-hole stroke play and limited to 100 entries. The entry fee is $155.

CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT SET FOR SUN CITY

The Par-Tee Girls Ladies Golf League of Desert Willow Golf Club at Sun City MacDonald Ranch is sponsoring a tournament for the Rally for a Cure on Oct. 17. Check-in is at 7 a.m. and tee-off is at 8 a.m. The cost is $65.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS TO HOST HOOPS LEAGUE

Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas will host a fall basketball league for fifth- through 10th-graders at two locations: at the Lied Memorial Boys & Girls Club, 2850 S. Lindell Road; and at the Donald W. Reynolds Boys & Girls Club in the Green Valley area, 2980 Robindale Road.

Southern Nevada Wrestling Association is recruiting for its 2007-08 season. The league is open to grades K-8.
