MOVIES AT THE DISTRICT

* Don't miss the chance to watch free movies this weekend at The District at Green Valley Ranch. "Monsters, Inc." will be shown on Friday, and "Bewitched" will be shown on Saturday. Both shows start at dusk at The Green. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring blankets and picnic baskets.

HEALTHY HENDERSON

* The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department and St. Rose Dominican Hospital will offer health screenings from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Henderson Events Plaza and Convention Center on Water Street. A family fitness walk is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m., and other activities are planned throughout the day. Prices for health screenings vary. For information, call 616-4900 or 267-4060.

JOE BONAMASSA

* Guitarist Joe Bonamassa will play his blend of rock and blues music at 8 p.m. Saturday. Crosby Loggins, son of songwriter Kenny Loggins, will be the opening act. Free. Henderson Events Plaza Amphitheater, 200 S. Water St. 267-2171.

JAN SCHAFFER RECECPTION

* Join local artist Jan Schaffer at 7 p.m. Wednesday for a reception to mark the opening of her new watercolor exhibit, now on display until Oct. 19 at the Gallery at Liberty Pointe at the Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway. 267-2171.
