The North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce will honor more than 20 servicemen and first responders in North Las Vegas and Las Vegas at the chamber's fifth annual Salute to Heroes Luncheon, noon Thursday in the Dallas Ballroom at Texas Station's conference center.

Chamber president Sharon Powers said she is expecting a few hundred people at the event, which she said is a simple one, hosted by KLAS-TV, Channel 8 news anchor Gary Waddell. A group from Nellis Air Force Base will present the Honor Guard and sing the National Anthem, the stories of the honorees' heroic acts will be told and the men and women will be presented with their awards and honored by the audience, Powers said, "in recognition of them going above and beyond."
