NEVADA BALLET THEATRE: Excelling in the arts
Company dancers to add cultural ambassadorship to repertoire

It's been A Decade of Excellence for the Nevada Ballet Theatre. That's how it's promoting its latest season.

The Nevada Arts Council (NAC), celebrating its 40th anniversary, was pleased to honor the NBT with the Governor's Annual Art Award this past spring in Reno. The NBT was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award.

Canyon a treat for day hikers, overnight campers

You will have to make an effort to get to Hackberry Canyon, but the rewards are great. If you like overnight backpacking, the entire 20-mile canyon is scenic; but its first few miles are the most stunning, so it also makes an ideal destination for day hikers.

In these first few miles you will find one of the most colorful narrows in the region, an old homesteader's cabin, and if you travel up one side canyon, there is even an arch.
