THURSDAY NIGHT LIVE

* Thursday Night Live, Henderson's weekly cultural arts showcase, returns this week. Don't miss Quintessence, a jazz quintet, at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Henderson Events Plaza Amphitheater, 200 S. Water St. Free.

ART EXHIBIT

* The portraits, landscapes and seascapes of artist Steven Kilgour will be on display through April 24 at The Gallery at Liberty Pointe at the Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway. Exhibit open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Free.

RIDE FOR CHARITY

* The American Diabetes Association will hold the Tour de Cure, its signature cycling fundraising event, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Ride begins at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water St., and winds through the desert to Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Call 369-9995, ext. 7484, or visit www. diabetes.org/tour.

CHILD SEEKERS FUNDRAISER

* Nevada Child Seekers will hold it annual 5K Dash, 1-Mile Stroll starting at 7:45 a.m. Saturday at Solista Park, 1890 Via Firenze. Registration is $25. Call 458-7009 or visit www.nevadachildseekers.org for information.

EMPTY BOWLS

* Green Valley High School, 460 N. Arroyo Grande Blvd., will host its Empty Bowls Benefit from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $12 adults, $10 children age 12 and under. There will be a live and silent auction of artwork. Every participant leaves with a handcrafted bowl. Proceeds will benefit Las Vegas Catholic Worker.

CITY COUNCIL

* The Henderson City Council will meet at 7 p.m. today at City Hall, 240 S. Water St.
