DOCTOR AUTO TO DONATE MONEY TO LEGACY HIGH SCHOOL

In honor of the grand opening of its second location, Doctor Auto, 3255 W. Ann Road, will donate a portion of its profits April 4 to Legacy High School.

Doctor Auto will be offering $5 from every oil change, $5 from every regularly priced smog test and 10 percent off labor for all other services to be donated to Legacy High School.

Student athletes will be on hand to encourage people to stop by and enjoy food and beverages at the location. Stock car racer Becki Torbergson also will be at the grand opening.

If someone cannot be accommodated that day and returns within a week, Legacy High School will still receive the donation.

In addition to regular services, Doctor Auto also offers services such as an adult and teen driving course.

PROFICIENCY EXAM SET FOR TODAY

All Clark County School District high school sophomores, as well as nonproficient juniors and seniors, are scheduled to take the Nevada High School Proficiency Exam today. All students must pass the test to earn a high school diploma. To help prepare for the math portion of the exam, students can use an online tutorial at www.mathtest.ccsd.net.

CORTNEY MIDDLE SCHOOL TO HOLD EMPLOYEE REUNION

Cortney Middle School, 5301 E. Hacienda Ave., will hold an all-employee reunion at 1 p.m. on April 12 at Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road.

The event is open to all staff members who have worked at the school since its opening 10 years ago.

The cost is $10 per person, and children younger than 10 are free. The school will provide food. For more information, call Liz LaRocco or Susie Bageant at 799-2400.
