Ashley Gayle, a student-athlete at Bishop Gorman High School, was invited to participate in the McDonald's All American Basketball Game, which was held last month in Milwaukee.
She was one of 47 boys and girls selected to play in the national game this year.
Gayle's friends, family, coaches and teammates will celebrate the honor during a special event at Bishop Gorman on April 9, where Gayle will be presented with an award and gifts, courtesy of Las Vegas McDonald's owners/operators.
BASKETBALL LEAGUE FOR KIDS PLANNED AT DURANGO HILLS
The Durango Hills YMCA, 3521 N. Durango Drive, is registering players for a youth basketball league.
The league begins on Friday and runs through May. The cost is $100, plus uniforms, which cost $26.

POP WARNER FOOTBALL SIGNS UP PLAYERS
Registration for Pop Warner Football is taking place at 3330 E. Sunrise Ave., Suite 103, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and April 19, May 17 and 31, June 14 and 28 and July 12 and 19.
Registration is divided into five age groups and costs $180 for players and $90 for spirit leaders.

TBA REGISTERS FOR SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUE
The Tarkanian Basketball Academy, 2730 S. Rancho Drive, is accepting registration for its summer basketball league, open to boys and girls in kindergarten through high school.
Skill sessions are held Monday through Wednesday nights and games are played on weekends.
