TIP-A-COP NIGHT TO BE THURSDAY AT CLAIM JUMPER

Teaming up with local law enforcement agencies and the Nevada Highway Patrol, Claim Jumper restaurants will host Tip-A-Cop night to benefit the Special Olympics from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday.

Uniformed officers and deputies will work alongside Claim Jumper wait staff to earn tips during dinner by tackling everyday restaurant tasks such as greeting guests, serving drinks, taking orders and bussing tables. The restaurant chain's annual event helped law enforcement teams raise more than $150,000 last year.

The southeast Claim Jumper is located at Town Square at 6629 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

MAYOR TO ADDRESS NEVADA SENIOR COALITION

The Nevada Senior Coalition, a nonprofit, non-partisan group concerned with taxes, crime, legislation, immigration, prescriptions and traffic, will meet on May 5 at 10 a.m. at the Railhead in Boulder Station, 4111 Boulder Highway.

The speaker will be Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman.

ENJOY A FAIRYLAND TEA PARTY AT THE LIBRARY

Children ages 6 to 11 are invited to a Fairyland Tea Party in the storyroom at the Clark County Library on Saturday at 11 a.m. Participants are encouraged to dress in their best fairy costume for an hour of stories, games, crafts and tea.

The event is free and open to the public. The library is located at 1401 E. Flamingo Road. For more information, call 507-3400.

LAS VEGAS IRIS SOCIETY TO HOST FLOWER SHOW

The Las Vegas Iris Society will hold its annual Spring Flower Show beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday and at 10 a.m. on Sunday at the Nevada Garden Clubs Inc. Center, 3333 W. Washington Blvd., at Lorenzi Park.

CITY ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS THROUGH APRIL 25

The city of Las Vegas is accepting applications for Neighborhood Partners Fund Grants through April 25.

Grants of up to $5,000 are available for neighborhood improvement projects that are planned and implemented by neighborhood associations registered with the city's Neighborhood Services Department.

Applicants are required to match requested grant funds with volunteer labor, funding or other matching resources.
