THEATER FESTIVAL OPEN TO SENIORS
Seniors are invited to go on an overnight trip to the Utah Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City, Utah. The bus leaves at 8 a.m. on Oct. 1 from the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive, and returns at 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 2. The two-day trip includes three play orientations and three performances; "Gaslight," "Julius Caesar" and "Moonlight and Magnolias."

PLAY POKER FOR A GOOD CAUSE
HELP of Southern Nevada will host a no-limit, $300 buy-in Texas Hold'em poker tournament on Aug. 23 at the Palms, 4321 W. Flamingo Road.
Registration starts at 6 p.m., and play starts at 6:30 p.m. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served throughout the evening.
The grand prize is a $10,000 seat at the 2009 World Series of Poker. Individuals who do not play can attend for a donation of $50.
Proceeds will benefit HELP, a nonprofit that works with low-income individuals and families to help them become more self-sufficient.
