BACK TO SCHOOL: Crash course in style
The 'awesome' '80s are making a comeback

One of the most exciting parts of going back to school is new clothes. Even though Las Vegans need to wait almost two months to start wearing their fall threads, this still is the perfect time to shop. The sales are on, and the new styles are out.

"Mostly, I prepare for winter," said Hilary Williams, 16, an incoming junior at Foothill High School. Williams, who has three younger sisters, said the family is really good about finding sales. The girls each get a day with their mom to shop. And although the high schooler buys most of her clothes for the year before school starts, she said she shops for shoes year-round.

The process of gearing up for a new school year can cause a lot of stress for parents and students alike. As summer vacation draws to a close, the hunt for school supplies, new clothes and the proper registration paperwork seems never ending.

Perhaps it's no wonder some important details may be overlooked in the process.
