MORE2LOVE: A dream materialized
After becoming frustrated with other stores, local fashionista opens plus-sized clothing boutique in Spring Valley

After Sydney Leblanc's husband-to-be slipped a ring on her finger three years ago, Leblanc set out to find the perfect wedding gown. She drove from store to store in search of a unique and affordable dress that fit her size 26 frame. The few stores that could get her size would order the dress before she could try it on and would not offer a refund.

"I couldn't find anything to even try on," Leblanc said. "That's when a light bulb came on. Just because I'm not thin doesn't mean I shouldn't have the same experiences as other women."

Economy slows Durango Station plans
Lot at Durango Drive and Las Vegas Beltway to remain empty for now

The 70-acre lot at Durango Drive just south of the Las Vegas Beltway slotted for Durango Station will continue to sit empty for who knows how long.

Station Casinos Inc. told a crowd at a public meeting in July that it planned to break ground on Durango Station next year, with an opening in 2011, if market conditions held steady. The bottom dropped out of most hotel-casinos' profits over the two months that followed to slow Station Casinos' plans.
