WANDERLEI SILVA: A new place to train
Mixed martial arts fighter opens gym for families to work out together along with other Ultimate Fighting professionals

Shouts and grunts spilled out the doors and windows of the Wand Fight Team Gym on an early morning in November.

Inside, trainer Rafael Alejarra screamed a combination of encouragements and commands toward Wanderlei Silva. Silva, known among Ultimate Fighting Championship fans as the "Axe Murderer," heaved huge tractor tires across the gym floor, then sprinted to the other end of the gym and quickly lifted free weights. Then he grabbed a hanging rope to do pull-ups. Silva ran the stations several times before he finished with a sprint on the treadmill.

Special education students get chance to dance
Southwest region of school district hosted swinging social

For a $3 admission, the kids got lunch and the chance to meet hot chicks.

In late November, middle and high school special education students in the southwest region of the Clark County School District attended a dance hosted at Spring Valley High School, 3750 S. Buffalo Drive. Michael Williams, a specialized education teacher at Spring Valley High School, organized the extravaganza.
