BOULDER CITY LIBRARY INSTITUTES FOOD FOR FINES PROGRAM
If there's an overdue Boulder City Library book or two lying around the house, don't worry about paying overdue fines during the month of December.
It will cost you a can of food, though, for each item that has missed its due date.
The Boulder City Library, 701 Adams Blvd., is allowing borrowers to pay off up to $5 in overdue fines under a program that has worked in other library districts.
The waiving of fines applies only to overdue materials owned by the Boulder City Library, and items must be returned to the circulation desk, library officials said.
All collected nonperishable canned goods will be given to Emergency Aid of Boulder City for distribution.
For more information, call the library at 293-1281.
