SHOW PLANNED FOR RECRUITERS BY RECRUITERS

The Recruiting Roadshow will be held at 9 a.m. Feb. 27 at Green Valley Ranch Resort, 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway. The half-day, regional tradeshow experience is specifically designed by and for those in the recruiting industry.

Each Recruiting Roadshow is tailored to the region it's held in because it's sponsored by locals in the recruiting industry.

The events are free, brought to the recruiting community by sponsors who want to strengthen the industry by providing hard-to-get professional development opportunities.

Police looking for Citizens Academy participants

The Henderson Police Department is accepting applications for the upcoming Citizen's Academy. The 13-week academy meets from 6 to 9 p.m. each Tuesday from March 4 to May 27, to give residents with a unique insight into the life and training of a Henderson police officer.

The goal of the Citizen's Academy is to build a bridge between residents and the police department. During the program, residents experience a condensed version of the actual police academy.

Some of the topics covered are: radio and communication training, community policing, use of force, gang enforcement, crime scene investigation, detention center procedures, criminal justice overview, domestic violence and criminalistics.

Applicants must live or work in Henderson, be at least 21 years old, and have no felony, gross misdemeanor or misdemeanor convictions.

Applications can be picked up at the main station at 223 Lead St., the Green Valley substation at 300 S. Green Valley Parkway or the Community Relations Unit inside the Galleria at Sunset mall.

HENDERSON ART ASSOCIATION RECEPTIONS PLANNED

A reception for the Henderson Art Association's Winter Show will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Reflection Bay Clubhouse, Lake Las Vegas Resort, 75 Montelago Blvd. The show is open to the public.

The Winter Show at Reflection Bay runs until May 5.

A reception for the Henderson Art Association's Fine Arts Competition will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Old Town Gallery, 10 W. Pacific Ave.

Awards will be presented to show winners at this reception, which is open to the public.

The Fine Arts Competition show is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays through March 8 at the Old Town Gallery.

SHALOM HADASSAH PLANS OUTING TO LIBERACE MUSEUM

Shalom Hadassah is planning an outing to see pianist Wes Winters perform at the Liberace Museum.

The group will meet at 11 a.m. Feb. 20, at the museum, 1775 E. Tropicana Ave.
