The Mike O' Callaghan Federal Hospital at 4700 Las Vegas Blvd. North provides 24-hour emergency service, in addition to an emergency services response line, for active-duty, retired military service members and their dependents.

The hospital opened in 1994 as a joint venture between the 99th Medical Group and the Department of Veteran Affairs Southern Nevada Healthcare System. Hospital services include cardiology, anesthesia, same-day surgery and obstetrics to aerospace and nuclear medicine.

Acting as a center for preventative, as well as emergent treatment, Mike O'Callaghan Federal Hospital offers primary care medical services by family medicine training instructors, active or government service physicians, nurses and physician assistants. Primary care services are delivered through the hospital's Family Medicine Residency, both in its clinic facilities and on an inpatient basis from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

The hospital provides pharmacy services, general dentistry and emergency dental care, an optometry clinic, a cancer program, an immunization clinic and a health and wellness center, which concentrates on educating the Nellis Air Force Base community on cardiovascular disease, nutrition and fitness, stress management and healthy lifestyle behaviors. The Health and Wellness Center offers classes and distributes the self-care book "Taking Care of Yourself."

The hospital provides on-base ambulance services and operates under TriCare, the Department of Defense health care program for active duty and retired members of the uniformed services, their families and survivors.
