Dale Dombrowski/VIEWA sign directs pharmacy customers at the 2513 S. Nellis Blvd. Rite Aid to go across the street to the Walgreens at 5011 E. Sahara Ave. The Rite Aid Corp. announced on Jan. 4 that the chain was leaving Southern Nevada. Rite Aid prescriptions were transferred to Walgreens, which has 64 stores in Nevada, 39 of them in the Las Vegas Valley, said Michael Polzin, media spokesman for Walgreens. He said it was an easy transition and the pharmacy would likely have extra services, like 24-hour access and drive-throughs.
