Loose change to many, treasure to local group

Phil Carlino started with a bag of pennies.

"My wife wanted a hobby," said the coin collector and original founder of the Las Vegas Numismatic Society. "So, I went to the bank and bought 5,000 pennies. Friday, she was too busy to have a look. Saturday came, and she had something to do. Sunday, I decided to go through the bag myself."

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS: Fighting anyone, anywhere

In the brutal world of professional mixed martial arts fighting, the rules of engagement are very clear: no eye gouging, choking, or blows to the back of the head. Every other form of assault is readily accepted as part of the game.

While many people might classify the sport as barbaric, conjuring images of broken bones, bruised egos and limping competitors, Las Vegas resident Kenny "The Shark" Heuer, 33, only sees the art behind the sport.
