The center?s next food and music combo event is set for Sunday. From noon to 1:30 p.m., Welc will cook up Irish cuisine in a workshop atmosphere for patrons who pay a $15 admission fee. Then at 2 p.m., the Celtic Travelers, a group of Las Vegas musicians with roots in Ireland, will take the stage. Tickets for the concert are $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and students. LEARN MEXICAN FOLK DANCE
A 12-week Mexican folkloric dance class begins today at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive.
The classes will cover various unique dances from many of the Mexican states and will culminate in a public performance held at the end of the classes. Classes are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m. for children ages 6 to 12, and from 7 to 8 p.m. for those ages 13 and older. The cost is $60. MEET LOCAL MILITARY VETERAN AUTHORS
The Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road, will host I Love A Man In Uniform -- Stories of the Armed Forces, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Five local authors with backgrounds in armed forces employment and research will talk about their new military-themed books in the Jewel Box Theater. Appearing at the event will be Rick Ainsworth, author of "The Haverfield Incident"; Mike Hazard, author of "The Sea's Fury: Rescue At Point Serenity"; Joe McCauley, author of "Puck Dreams & Other Stories"; Corwin McIntyre, author of "For America, Our Last Hurrah"; and Jack Miller, author of "Cold War Warrior" and "Cold War Defector."

SEE 'PETER AND THE WOLF' PERFORMED BY PUPPETS
The Fratello Marionettes will perform "Peter and the Wolf," accompanied by the majestic score of Sergei Prokofiev, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.
This is an excellent way to introduce children to classical music. The show will be performed again at 4 p.m. at Enterprise Library, 25 E. Shelbourne Ave.

COUNTY SUMMER JOBS ARE UP FOR GRABS
The Clark County Parks and Recreation Department's aquatics program is recruiting individuals ages 151/2 years and older to work as lifeguards, water safety instructors, cashiers and pool management staff for the summer season.
The county has 12 pools throughout the valley. Facilities will open to the public beginning on Memorial Day weekend and will remain open through weekends in September.
Lifeguard training classes are available during March, April, May and June.
Early enrollment is recommended as training classes fill up quickly. For information on class dates and locations, contact the Seasonal Aquatics Office at 455-8508, the Desert Breeze Aquatic Office at 455-7798, option 2, or on the department's Web site.
