BLUEGRASS BAND TO PERFORM AT BOOK STORE

The Backward Glance Bluegrass Band will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at Borders, 10950 W. Charleston Blvd. The concert will feature bluegrass, mountain music, old-time country and gospel music. Admission is free.

JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL PLANNED

The seventh annual Las Vegas Jewish Film Festival is planned for Wednesday through Sunday at the Summerlin Library Theater, 1771 Inner Circle Drive, and Jan. 27 at the UNLV Student Union Theater, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.

Nine international award-winning, Jewish-themed films, including Sundance and Tribeca film festival and Israeli Academy Award winners, will be featured.

CATCH LIVE MUSIC AT JILLIAN'S LAS VEGAS

Jillian's Las Vegas, 450 S. Fremont St., will host bands Melee, Matt White, Until June and Theory of Flight at 6 p.m. Saturday.

BLACK & WHITE BALL TO BENEFIT BALLET

Nevada Ballet Theatre announces that Twyla Tharp will be honored as its Woman of the Year 2008 at The Black & White Ball on Jan. 26 at Wynn Las Vegas.

Proceeds from the evening will allow Nevada Ballet Theatre to continue to provide main stage productions by its professional company, quality dance training within its affiliated school, the Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre, as well as through its education and outreach program, Future Dance.

Single tickets cost between $600 and $2,500. For reservations, call 243-2623.

LITTLE THEATRE PRESENTS 'ORPHEUS DESCENDING'

Las Vegas Little Theatre, 3920 Schiff Drive, will continue its 30th anniversary season through Jan. 27 with a production of Tennessee Williams' "Orpheus Descending," the story of a woman storekeeper and a young drifter who are both determined to free themselves from small town corruption.

Performances begin at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $22 for adults and $19 for seniors and students.
