Nicholas J. Doyon, son of Jim and Elaine Doyon of Las Vegas, has been awarded the Darl Rose Scholarship by the Nevada South Youth Soccer League.
Doyon graduated from Sierra Vista High School in 2007 after only three years. He played varsity soccer for all three years and was named defensive most valuable player his last year.
He maintained a grade point average of 3.544 while enrolled in more than 16 honors or Advanced Placement courses.
Doyon played in the Nevada South Youth Soccer League for nine seasons. His last year, he played for Academy Futbol Club. Previous years, he played for Premier '90 and Neusport '90.
He received many honors, including academic scholarships, all conference honors and was a five-time state champion. He also was a soccer coach, did personal training, worked as a lifeguard and helped with soccer camp showcases.
Doyon currently is playing soccer for Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Mich.
Derek Robinson has been accepted to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Ariz., for the fall.
Robinson, who was home-schooled, plans to major in aerospace engineering.
He is the son of Jerry and Andrea Robinson of Henderson.
