ARTIST EXHIBIT AND RECEPTION BEGINS FEB. 1 AT COUNTY CENTER

Structuring the Invisible, a new exhibit by artist Brent Sommerhauser, will be on display Feb. 1-15 at the Clark County Government Center Rotunda Gallery, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. An artist reception will be held during First Friday events from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 1.

Sommerhauser is best known for his use of pencils as a sculptural material to create ocean surfaces.

LITTLE THEATRE PRESENTS 'ORPHEUS DESCENDING'

Las Vegas Little Theatre, 3920 Schiff Drive, will continue its 30th anniversary season through Sunday with a production of Tennessee Williams' "Orpheus Descending," the story of a woman storekeeper and a young drifter who are both determined to free themselves from small town corruption.

Performances begin at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $22 for adults and $19 for seniors and students. Tickets can be purchased online at www.lvlt.org or by calling 362-7996.

LIBRARY DISTRICT TO HOLD COMICSFEST ON SATURDAY

The Library District ComicsFest is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

Special guests include Greg Rucka, writer of "Checkmate" and DC Comics' "52," and creator of "Whiteout" and "Queen and Country;" Jimmy Gownley, creator of "Amelia Rules;" Steven Grant, writer for "The Punisher;" Josh Elder, creator of "Mail Order Ninja;" graphic novel expert Michele Gorman; and local artists and other professional comics creators.

Meet representatives from companies including Dark Horse Comics, IDW Publishing, Japanime, Tokyopop and Yen Press. The dealers' room will have opportunities to play Nintendo Wii games and to enter a drawing to win free books.
