NEVADA CHAMBER SYMPHONY TO PERFORM

The Nevada Chamber Symphony will perform classical and pop favorites on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Jewel Box Theater at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

This special concert is designed to introduce children and adults to classical music. Admission is free. For more information, call 433-9280.

FIND OUT BEST PLACES TO HIKE WITH YOUR CANINE FRIENDS

Authors Kimberly (Lewis) Reinhart and Paula Jacoby-Garrett will talk about their book, "Best Hikes With Dogs: Las Vegas and Beyond," and will present a slideshow on the topic on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Jewel Box Theater at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

Admission for the program is free. A book sale and signing will follow the presentation. Dog specialty store Wags and Whiskers, 10740 S. Eastern Ave., No. 105, will offer outdoor doggie products for sale. For more information, call 734-7323.

WALK WITH THE HEART OF A CHILD SET FOR FEB. 9

The Walk with the Heart of a Child event is set for Feb. 9 at the Fashion Show mall to support the Nevada-based Children's Heart Foundation.

The 3K walk will begin at 8:30 a.m., with registration at 7 a.m. Online registration is available now at www.chfn.org. The registration fee is $20 for adults, $15 for virtual walkers and $10 for students and seniors.

The nonprofit Children's Heart Foundation, located at 3006 S. Maryland Parkway, strives to improve the lives of children who suffer from heart problems, with programs such as Camp Mend-a-Heart, Smart Heart scholarships and the Pediatric Heart Conference.

WORLD MUSIC SERIES TO ADD FOOD TO PROGRAM

The World Vibration Music Series at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive, will include food to complement the music on Feb. 10. Chef Timothy Welc will present a Brazilian cooking demonstration at noon.

Participants will interact with the chef and taste the final product after the cooking. A concert will feature Brazilian Rhythms at 2 p.m.

The cost for the cooking demonstration is $15. Those who arrive by 1:30 p.m. also may try the food for an additional $10, while supplies last.
