MOVIE THEATER TO HOST FAMILY FILM FESTIVAL

Regal Entertainment Group is hosting a nine-week free Family Film Festival at 10 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings to entertain the community's children while they're out of school for the summer.

The festival will be held at the United Artists Rainbow Promenade 10, located at 2321 N. Rainbow Blvd. Admission is free to the G- and PG-rated movies, and special kids' combo snacks will be available. A double feature will be shown each day, with film titles changing weekly.

Upcoming films include "Jonah: A Veggie Tales Movie" and "Bee Movie" today and Wednesday; "Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: Veggie Tales" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" on July 8 and 9; and "Mr. Bean's Holiday" and "Nancy Drew" on July 15 and 16. The Family Film Festival continues through Aug. 13.

The festival is sponsored by Regal, Cartoon Network, Station Casinos, the Amico Team with Prudential Americana, Centennial Hills Hospital, A-Central Janitorial and the Las Vegas Review-Journal. For more information, call 636-2869.

FOURTH OF JULY CARNIVAL SET FOR LIED SCHOOL

The city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services will host an All-American Fourth of July Carnival for all ages from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Lied Community School, 5340 W. Tropical Parkway. The family event will include games, food and other fun.

KIDS' NIGHT OUT PLANNED AT CIMARRON ROSE

Cimarron Rose Community Center, 5591 N. Cimarron Road, will host a children's night out event for ages 3 to 12 from 6 to 10 p.m. on July 11. Children will play games, make crafts, eat a themed meal and watch a movie.

The fee is $15 and space is limited. Registration required by July 10.

LOCAL 10-YEAR-OLD NEEDS BONE MARROW DONOR

A bone marrow registration drive is set for 1 to 8 p.m. on July 8 at the Clark County Armory, 6400 Range Road. The drive is being held on behalf of 10-year-old Brandon Rayner, a brain tumor survivor in need of a bone marrow transplant to help him survive leukemia. Brandon currently is receiving treatment at Sunrise Children's Hospital.

The screening process consists of a quick, painless cheek swab. Potential donors must be between the ages of 18 and 60 and in good health.
