LITERARY LAS VEGAS
Author Stephen Grogan's "Vegas Die" launched with a catchy gimmick -- a mystery within the mystery. The tale of mobster murder with the mayor as the No. 1 suspect also includes clues to find a dagger hidden somewhere in Las Vegas. Grogan says the dagger is worth $25,000. His Web site, www.QuestMystery.com, includes a forum for sleuths to check in with each other, exchange notes and find additional clues. Note: light digging may be required, but don't attack the author's backyard with a shovel. Also included are mini mysteries and closed case files to occupy visiting readers.
Grogan plans to sign books at 2 p.m. Saturday at the 2323 S. Decatur Blvd. Borders. Signings also are set for 10 a.m. Monday and July 10 at the McCarran International Airport Borders, 1 p.m. July 12 at the 10950 W. Charleston Blvd. Borders and 1 p.m. July 26 at the Meadows Mall Borders Express.
