SAFEKEY, THE EDGE OFFER MAIL-IN REGISTRATION

Clark County Parks and Recreation Safekey and The Edge programs are holding mail-in registration through Aug. 7 for before- and after-school recreation programs held at participating elementary and middle school sites. Registration applications will be available at all Clark County Recreation Centers, 12-month Safekey program sites and the Sunset Park Safekey office.

The Edge is an after-school program for students attending Lawrence, Silvestri, Sawyer and Faiss middle schools. Program hours are from school dismissal until 6 p.m. Financial assistance for both Safekey and The Edge may be available to qualifying families through the state of Nevada Child Care Assistance Program by calling 387-0985.

'CHEFCLASS' AIRING THROUGH AUG. 9 ON VEGAS PBS

The Vegas PBS cooking school series "ChefClass" airs on Channel 10 at 3:30 p.m. every Saturday through Aug. 9. The show takes viewers inside The International Culinary Schools of the Art Institutes to learn how to cook like professionals. Each episode features a chef-instructor teaching cooking techniques, such as roasting, grilling, braising and sautéing.

Lit'l Scholar Academy's annual summer camps run through Aug. 22. The camp is divided into two programs, full-day and half-day, and is for children 18 months and older. HOST FAMILIES SOUGHT FOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS

Youth For Understanding is seeking families to host foreign exchange students for the next school year. Participants have their own insurance, spending money, cannot drive and speak English. Families must provide room, board and a safe home environment.

FIFTH STREET SCHOOL STUDENTS SOUGHT FOR REDEDICATION

The city of Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency is searching for students of the Fifth Street School when it was the Las Vegas Grammar School from 1936 until 1966. The agency will recognize these individuals during a rededication event in the fall.
